We have seen many cases of cheating with cricketers, but this time, one cricket has been accused of cheating, approx. 3 crores from 60 companies. A cricket player cheated over 60 companies by calling himself the PA of CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of Andhra Pradesh. As per the report of ANI, Mumbai Cyber Cell has arrested a 28-year-old cricketer.
A player named Nagraj Budumuru has been arrested by the Mumbai Cyber Cell. Nagraj Budumuru is a former Ranji player of Andhra Pradesh. Not only this but Nagraj Budumuru has also been involved in the Sunrisers Hyderabad team. It is alleged that Nagraj Budumuru carried out the fraud by taking the name of CM, and in this way, he defrauded 60 companies.
The accused called up an employee of an electronics store in the city, posing as Reddy’s associate. He also demanded money. It is alleged that Budumuru forged documents to prove his identity and his affiliation with the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
Dr Balsingh Rajput, DCP Cybercrime, elaborated on the full case, “After receiving the complaint, our team started tracking the money to be given as sponsorship. The money trail pointed to Budumuru. He was arrested earlier this week from his native place Yavaripetta in the Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh.”
According to the police, Budumuru has defrauded 60 companies for around Rs 3 crore. It is being told that the police have recovered about Rs 7.6 lakh from him. Budumuru was a part of the Andhra Ranji Trophy team from 2014 to 2016. He has also once been a part of the Indian Premier League franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad. The report states that the former cricketer is an MBA graduate. He was also named in the Guinness Book of Records for the longest net session by an individual batsman in 2016.
